May 4, 2007 Palm Coast Florida

After a wonderful day yesterday we started today with a big breakfast and then pushed away from the dock about 10:00 a.m. It was a beautiful day with calm waters. Wasn't long before we got into a lot of smoke from the fires all around us. Florida has been so dry that there have been fires popping up all over the place. It actually got thick a few times and it was definitely irritating to the eyes.

We traveled the ICW past some beautiful homes and narrow channels. It brought back the days on the rivers.

The dolphins followed us along the way. We must have seen several dozen throughout the day. We were also fortunate enough to have a manatee surface in front of the boat. He was huge!!! After arriving at the marina (Yacht Harbour Marina) we got ourselves tied up securely to the wall and then caught a ride to the Resort for an afternoon at the pool. It is really a beautiful place with five pools outdoor and one inside. They have several restaurants and a beautiful beach in front.

The pictures are of the miniature golf that is on natural grass, plus the inside pool. I have also included one of Bob, Barb and Craig enjoying the pool. The last picture is one of the captain hard at work.

Tomorrow we are heading for St. Augustine which is up the river about 25 miles. Trying to get the captain slowed down a bit is tough, but we aren't giving up on him. He tells us we may get to stay in St. Augustine for three whole days. We'll believe it when we see it.

Till next time.....Keep reading the blog and keep in touch.
