JULY 23, 2007...Montreal

Today we are tourists and signed up for the city tour on Greylines. They picked us at the marina for the three hour tour. Pictures are of Mary Catheral of the World, inside the Catheral of Norte Dame (it was breath taking but dark. Celine was married here), horse carriage that will give you a tour, Montreal stadium where the expos played, a statue of Jackie Robinson and two children (he played in Montreal before going to the majors in US), the 1976 Olympic torch, St Joesph Catheral (built over a 40 year period by one poor man who collected donations by himself), and a view from the top of mount Montreal. The mtn. is right in the middle of the city and is where all the expensive real estate and many churches are located. In a distance you can see Vermont...may be Ben and Jerry's factory. It is less than 40 miles. Actually when we were in Chambly we were 15 miles from Montreal; however we traveled 80 miles and three days to get here.

Following the tour we returned to the boat and started to prepare for the kids arrival on Tuesday. Since lunch was leftover steak and lobester, dinner was a light at a little street cafe. Since summer is so short, 120 days, people live and eat outside. The weather is just great, even though they have had a wet summer up to know. Lets hope we keep it for a few more weeks.

We can't wait for the kids to arrive and share our adventures with them.
