October 28, 2006 Captain's Notes
Ward and Ingrid arrived on Friday evening after a two hour delay. Since they were our first company since Emil, we kept them up so as to get updated on all the Findlay and family news. They brought us a care package from Eric containing our business cards my belated birthday present, and our official Looper burgee.Sat. started cloudy and cool, so we had a large lazy breakfast before starting out to enjoy the area. We ended up at "Bark Octoberfest" in Seville park (dogs in Halloween costumes) raising money for the Humane Society. Following a tour of the old Pensacola (Rimkus Office photo) and the new downtown, we headed for the Navy Air Museum. Great exhibit and IMAX movie. Rimkus is the nationwide firm Rob works for.
Breakfast was wearing off and it was cocktail time. Requirement was beach, beer and sunshine. We went to Pensacola Beach and a local bar "Docks". There were actually "tourists" in bathing suits on the beach. We also got to view a military wedding being held on the beach. Back to the boat, return the rental car, and it was time for dinner. Problem was we were still full from our beach snacks and drinks...but after and hour or so of procrastination we walked to the Fishhouse and had a great meal. The restuarant was in the Seville Marina. The picture of Ward and myself is not what it seems...actually I was showing Ward how to work the shade over his bed. Remember to turn your clocks back.
