AUGUST 6,2007...ON THE ROAD AGAIN
We had breakfast at the Inn at 7;30am and Louie drove us to Hurst Marina, 30 miles. Louie then headed to Smith Falls to drop the car off, and catch a cab back to the marina. We got the props on, filled with gas and headed back on the Rideau. We want to thank Rob Johnson who came in off vacation to get the props back on and the boat launch. Hurst Marina was very helpful...and they were not ashamed to bill for it.
It was a long day but we passed through Merrickville and Smith Falls and stayed at Kilmarnock lock.
In the first picture you can see a yellow bottle marking the spot where we hit the props 3 days ago. It was not there before we hit however. We traveled 30 miles and did 11 locks. Kilmarnock was a great change, since we were all by ourself, except for a couple of kids that came down after dinner to do some fishing. The house is the lockkeeper home and had restrooms. We were able to use two 30amp outlet to get the 50 amps we needed to run the air and water heater. This is a good alternative to Smith Falls docks.

Glad to see you are back on the road/canal again! Sounds like you will still make it home on schedule though! Too bad about the props, I guess that wiped out the Cooper gains (the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away!)
Have fun, Love you guys!
