May 13, 2007 Mother's Day..Kictchen closed

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's. It was a nice Mother's Day for Barb and I today. We didn't cook once!!! Started with breakfast at the Omelet House and then on to do some errands.

Did a little running around and then went to the Lighthouse and Fort. It was hot and muggy, but at least we didn't get rained on as we had thought might happen.

The next picture is of a dresser in the lighthouse keepers house. It reminded me so much of the one my Mom and Dad had when I was growing up. Is that telling my age or what?

We then headed for the beach and had an adult beverage (better known as Beer) and some shrimp for a snack at Fannies on the Beach. Took a ride around the homes in the area and the last picture is the trees along the way. They were much prettier than the picture shows however.

We decided to eat dinner out tonight. Went to a cute little restaurant called Driftaway in Sandfly. Dinner was very good, but we all left way too full. Finished off the evening with a little TV and then called it a night.

It was a great day and it was wonderful to talk to all my kids and some of the grandkids.

Tomorrow we plan on making a trip to Savannah to do the tourist things. Neither Craig nor I have ever been there. Bob and Barb have been there several times so they can show us the highlights.

Hardly seems possible that it is time for them to leave us. We should be in Hilton Head by Tuesday, or Wednesday the latest. That is their final destination and then Craig and I will be on our own once again. The Hackenberg's will be joining us the end of the month so we will have extra hands again.
