MAY 22,2007...Myrtle Beach

Another day in port by our choice. The weather continues to be great.

The morning found us doing some laundry, updating the blog, and getting a dockside pump out of the holding tanks. We try to do this when we fuel so as to save a docking, however we fueled in Georgestown but could not get pumped out. Now we are back on schedule.

The next big assignment was to find a beauty shop. ML needed a little wax job and hair trim. While she was there I made a run to NAPA to try and find windshield wiper replacements. West Marine did carry a 29 inch blade. I found a pair, but they will need some modification so as work. It is not raining, so I have time!

It was now lunch time and we ate at The Crab House in Barefoot Resorts. The crab cakes were good, but the salad bar was less than average. There was a lot of restaurants to choose from and this probably wasn't the best choice even though it overlooked the ICW.

Next door was an outlet mall with our name on it. We found the Izod store and it took claim to our credit card. We will have to start pitching clothes if we keep buying...especially the captain. They were giving the stuff away!
After shopping, we ended up at Broadway at the Beach again. We toured the Aquarium before going to Imax 3D. The Aquarium was very well done with a long tunnel under the water, plus a number of other shows and exhibits. Imax was showing Safari, one we hadn't seen yet. However, ML got a little motion sick during the show. After the show, it was fresh air and salty snacks. She recovered in time for dinner.

A clerk in one of the stores recommended Sea Captains House on the ocean. The 1930"s house was located between high rise condos, and the waiting area and dinning rooms backed up to the beach. The food was good, not great, but the view and service was outstanding. We would return.

We gave up Idol final and Dancing with the Stars to go to the show at the Palace. It featured troup of probably 30 Chinese men and women doing unbelievable strength and arobatic moves. Throw in a little comdy and it was Las Vegas quality. Being off season, the place was nearly empty...maybe 300 seats sold out of 2000.

Wednesday it is back on the water and move north. We need to arrive in Norfolk by the 30th to meet Dave and Marilyn. Will not be a problem based on the weather forecast.
