June 16, 2007 New Jersey bound

Up early and saw Jerry and Paula off. They were great boat guests, and it was wonderful to have them on board.

We left port before 9 a.m. and headed for Chesapeake City. The water was calm and the skies were blue. When we arrived however there was no room for us at the marina. We had hoped to stay there and meet our cousin's stepson. However since we couldn't get in we just kept going and decided to catch up with Judy and Ned Cleveland who are from our Yacht Club in Ft. Myers. So we headed for Cape May. They however skipped Cape May and headed straight for Atlantic City. Guess we will try again somewhere along the way.

The pictures are of some of the ships we passed along the way. To say they were large is an understatement. Not to mention close!!!
The lighthouse is Brandywine Shoal Lighthouse and was one of several we passed along the way.
The last picture is the marina we are in. It is called Canyon Club Resort and Marina. Craig thought that we should come in here because it had larger boats. We however, got to the dock and tried to move the boat only to find we were aground. First time since we left last September. We were actually in the dock and the tide was at it's lowest so we sat in the mud until the tide came back in a little. Not long.....just 15 to 20 minutes actually. Can still say we haven't RUN aground however. Looks like we'll be leaving at high tide.
We had lots of laundry to get done so we headed for the laundry facilities here in the marina. In about an hour and a half we had it all done. Much quicker than trying to do it on the boat.
We sat by the pool and had an ice cream while we waited. It was very relaxing and restful to just sit for a while.
Tonight found us doing our favorite thing. Eating dinner and sleeping on the couch. We plan on hanging out here for a couple of days since the ocean is suppose to be a little rough for the next couple of days.
